On Friday 29th September 2017 we had the first ever McKenzie Centre Quiz Night fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who contributed in many forms e.g. by coming along, donating food, advertising to friends and family, donating raffle prizes, sponsoring a table etc. Special thanks to Megan Thomson, who was the key organiser for this event, and her wonderful Mum, Leanne Moyes, Carli Klink (for expertly taking charge of the kitchen), Jeremy and Sam Bennett (New World Ngaruawahia) who generously donated time, staff, drinks and food. Many parents and staff also donated with baking, auction items, time, and ticket sales. And we also had some wonderful support from local business in our community. Thanks so much to The Girl on a Swing for generously donating scrumptious cupcakes to McKenzie Centre for an entire week in June 2015, in recognition of the work we do in the community. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw the mouth-watering and delectable array of cupcakes and cakes when we collected them. It certainly took the chill out of the very frosty mornings to be able to enjoy these delicious treats - the children, families and staff were in sugar heaven every morning. We are delighted and very grateful to The Girl on a Swing for its generosity and support – what wonderful community spirit they have.
Our Trisha Benge has won a very prestigious Rotary award, the 2015 Rotary Paul Harris Fellow award, for meritorious service to the community. Congratulations Trisha!!!!!
