Parents

Supporting families is an essential service that is provided at McKenzie Centre. We have a family/whanau room where parents can withdraw to have a quiet time. In this room are tea and coffee facilities as well as books, information and DVDs which can be borrowed.

Parents supporting each other is provided at sessions; strong and lasting friendships have sprung from parents meeting each other at McKenzie Centre.

We provide Parent Focus Weeks each term. During these weeks the staff supervise the children while the parents take a break. The aim is to support parents with information on a variety of topics related to parenting children with special needs.

Each term newsletters are provided with information on future and past events, staff changes, acknowledgements and any other matters of general interest.
