McKenzie Centre Celebrates!!!
After seven years of saving and fundraising, McKenzie Centre recently celebrated the opening of our newly enlarged and renovated space. To cater for an ever-increasing demand for our unique early intervention services in the community, we realised almost a decade ago that our premises needed to grow. Now, thanks to generous support from a number of charitable funders (Lion Foundation, WEL Energy Trust, Trust Waikato and DV Bryant Trust), private donations and excellent community support for a variety of fundraising initiatives, the dream has become a reality.
Over the Christmas 2013 period, an extension was added to the existing admin/playroom wing, and the entire interior was reconfigured to make better use of the space. The result is a fresh, bright, more open space, which flows better for everyone, and enhances the learning and development of the children and families who attend. Have a look in the Photo Gallery to see the remarkable transformation which has taken place.
McKenzie Centre is an important community asset which provides a much needed early intervention service for children aged from birth to six years, with special needs, and their families, in the greater Hamilton area. The new building will allow McKenzie Centre to increase its capacity to support vulnerable children and their families for many years to come.
