McKenzie Centre came together as a community to celebrate Matariki on Thursday 16 June.
Matariki is a good time to remember that it’s a time to connect. Events included music, craft table, toy/clothes swap table, wish tree, photo booth and most importantly, kai.
About 50 people attended. It was lovely for the families who attend to meet families who attend on other days.
It was also nice to have families come in with siblings (of the children who attend) for them to see where their brother or sister go.
“Such a great evening for all the family! Older sister also loved coming to visit.”
“Amazing night with all our friends. We need to do it more often xxx”
“We had an excellent time. It was unusual for us to be here at this time, and it was lovely to see all of the sparkly lights when we arrived. It was a good Matariki night for us all.”
